Recession Vinyl: Available Now

I met up with Morris over at Proper+ last night since The Car Park stickers were done and they look LEGIT. Super excited to have these done for you guys. I'm rocking the "GAS RATION" sticker on the M3 already as you can see above. You can check out more pics on the car from a recent shoot here.

The stickers will be $5/piece, or you can get a full set for $12. But, for the first 10 people that order, I'll be sure to hook it up. Remember there are three sticker variations - HPDE/Auto-X, GAS RATION and MILEAGE RATION. It's an old pic, but you get the idea:

Order up. Do work. Roll hard.

The Car Park: Photo Education

Photo classes on The Car Park have officially begun. Check out the first installment:

Took the M3 out for a quick photoshoot the other day to make the official Recession Vinyl posters. It was a super cold day in Chicago, so I tried to get what I needed out of the shots ASAP. Now since I haven't really done this yet on The Car Park, I figured it'd be a good time as any to give all you photogs out there the details behind the shots:

35mm, f/5, 1/100, ISO200

200mm, f/5, 1/50, ISO200

35mm, f/1.4, 1/400, ISO200

35mm, f/1.4, 1/200, ISO200

35mm, f/1.4, 1/640, ISO200

35mm, f/1.4, 1/500, ISO200

200mm, f/5, 1/50, ISO200

Hopefully from the handful of photos, you guys can see:

1.) the difference between shooting with a 35mm wide angle and a 200mm telephoto
2.) the different results you get from shooting wide open (e.g. f/1.4) vs. stopping down (e.g. f/5)
3.) how badly you want to rock the recession vinyl on your car

In the next chapter, we'll dive into how results change when you change up ISO, so stay tuned for some more TCP photo lessons. Study hard. Order vinyl.

The Car Park: Vinyl Up

Gotta rep the guys that do it right. I'll be rocking the vinyl from Fatlace, Touge Factory and Proper+ on the rear windshield. The final drafts of the Car Park stickers will be done tomorrow without borders and done up in gloss black. You'll all be seeing a more thorough update once I get the vinyl in my hands. Stay tuned!

Be sure to check out The Car Park for some fresh car blogs and builds.

Nobody Likes a Tease

But sometimes you're too excited NOT to.

Checked out The Car Park sticker samples today at Touge Factory and they look DOPE. Special thanks to Mo for putting the stickers to print so quick and for all your help. The next sample will be coming in next week (Monday) and will be a glossy/non-bordered version. After weighing those options, the vinyls will be hitting the press and then to the public. Oh, and if you didn't notice from the previous post, I put together another military-inspired sticker called the "mileage ration" for all you will garage queens out there. Special colorways by request.

Mo has some really cool stuff going on in addition to TF, so stay tuned for some ins on all that. I was looking at some of the work today and it is one of those coolest things out there right now. You'll definitely see UMG rocking these. Trust me, it'll be WELL worth it!

Stickers! Stickers! Stickers!

So this is finally it - The Car Park is getting some vinyl done! It took some time to really think about the designs and the particular feel I wanted TCP stickers to have, but I feel pretty satisfied with this first batch. Check these first two out and let me know what you think:

If you notice too, The Car Park blog will soon have a new home as soon as the place is built on thecarpark.org. Huge thanks to all the avid readers so far - it means a lot! It's because of you guys that TCP is taking the next step forward.

Of course, later on there will be more traditional TCP (and UMG stickers for that matter), but I figured this would be a good, roundabout way to kick things off. The gas ration sticker would go great in the literal sense on some "eco-friendly" gas-conscious machine...or provide a bit of irony on some gas guzzling power car. I know I'll be rocking one on the M3. Stickers should be going to print within the next week, so stay tuned and e-mail mike@unscenemedia.com if you want one!
